here are the rules:-post who tagged you with a link to their blog-post these rules on your blog-write 10 random things about yourself!-tag some friends!

Hm.....10 Random things about me

1.. Sorry Brian I only check my blogs about once a month when I start missing everybody or I am too tired to do something productive. And about that facebook comment sorry also, Yes I am training for a marathon which is this weekend.......Scary. Wish me strong ankles and lubricated knees.

2. I can't decide If i want more kids. Doesn't a puppy count.

3. I love the youth in Hawaii.

4. I was an uninformed voter. Most of the info I got was on the internet and through emails. Mostly anti Obama because the majority of the people I know are Republicans. We don't have TV.

5. I made a scrapbook for a family who is moving back to the mainland this week. They have 17 adopted children. One of the most amazing families I know.

6. Now that I have been training for a marathon I have decided that I really like pasta. I have so much energy the day after. I used to not eat it because of trying to lose weight, but not anymore baby.

7. Everyone I know here wishes they had a copy of the Bodell Cookbook. Everytime we have a potluck it's like Katherine what is this recipe....I just say... Bodell Cookbook or my Mother-in-law.

8. I am actively engaged in our PTSA Reflections Program. Last Year we had 15 entries This year we have 51. It has been so fun. Our school does not have art or music and since I can't volunteer to teach I have been trying to encourage it in other ways.

9. I am a really funny person, at least in my own head.

10. It is a privledge to share the same birthday with my geeky, jelous (of the stake pres), politically correct brother in law. I find him funny, inside my head and out.

I am hoping that my
1. sister deborah will be the next one to pass this on
2. and Joe Bodell cuz I always thought we was cute he he. I like curly hair ok.
I don't think he reads my blog. So just in case.....hm no one else reads my blogs....
Nicole Patterson, do you have a blog, I would love to read ten random facts about you.

Love to all, Kat

We'll after years of sticking to my guns, the majority ruled 5 to 1 and we got Max, our new puppy, who is part Australian Shepard and part blue heeler, I actually had no say in the matter, I had just finished a very long 20 mile run and as I pulled up to Ben I saw the dog in the back of the truck, I gave him the look, he walked over to me and said "Katherine I love you sooooo much" and at that point their was nothing I could say, not because I was stricken with the overwhelming love for my husband, but because I was ready to pass out from my run.

In case you were wondering, Maisie is a Rose Maiden, Lydia is a Georgeous Southern Belle, (Her dress was made by Grandma Kenney who did an absolute fabulous job, Andrew is my Knight in Shining Armour and Sydney his damsel in disstress. (I made Andrews and Sydneys)

Helping with Iron Man

I took the girls and some friends to volunteer at the Iron Man competition. It was so amazing to see how much those athletes have to swim (2 miles), bike (from Kona to Havi, 112 miles ) and then run a marathon...all in one day! It happens each October here on the Big Island. The winner completes it in just over 8 hours. There were over 1800 athletes who participated. We got to pass out water bottles as they came by. It was so much fun.

Swimming with the Dolphins!

Maisie and Lydia scored a deal to go swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Quest. They were so excited and it was so much fun! The dolphin's name was Kao. Lydia was a bit nervous, but ended up having lots of fun. Maisie kissed Kao right on the chin. It was an experience to remember...definately a perk of living in paradise.

Aloha my family, Life keeps moving foreward despite the economy crisis. I am trying not to let fear take over my faith, it's hard when you have a mortgage in HI and your husband is doing his own thing and everyday people are getting laid off. But I'm optimistic. Kids are great, Maisie and Lydia are both on the same soccer team and are doing pretty good compared to last year. Andrew is also loving soccer, He makes at least one goal every game. Both girls are in piano and just started hula again with a friend of mine who just started up a new group. Andrew is absolutely loving Kindergarten and completes his homework in about two minutes when it's supposed to last all week. And then he plays play station which I vowed I'd never let him do, but he always makes sure all his jobs are done before asking so who can complain. Sydney is now officially potty trained and communicating very well... in her own language, she is getting evaluated per her pediatrician recommendation for her speach next week, I'll let you know how it goes. OUr front yard is now complete, we hydro seeded last week and are anxiously awaiting the grass to start growing. As soon as we get the pile of rubbish moved from the front of our yard I'll send before and after pictures. I'm so excited to have that massive project out of the way, now onto the next one which is to paint our house exterior.Ben is still teaching gospel doctrine and on the high council. He really enjoyed his time in Utah, He keeps busy with business and has been reading a lot of war books.Me, Yw is great I'm finally starting to get back into it after a short burnout after our major trek experience and girls camp. We're gearing up for YW in Excellence. I decided to run the Honolulu Marathan coming this December and have uped my training quite a bit. It is something I've always wanted to do after hearing stories all my live about my sister who did it when she was like 8, and then having a lot of my siblings do the St. George one a few years ago. So good luck to my fat butt. :0) I am volunteering for the Ironman in a few weeks to get really motivated or discouraged, we'll see how it goes. I have also signed on as yearbook coordinator, that should be fun and I'm doing reflections again, so life has picked up a little, but it's good to be busy again. Love to all Katherine

Living on a Volcano

Here's some pictures of one of our trips to the volcano. This is as close as we could go. It is neat to see smoke coming all the way down the hill side. Neat, but a little freaky, don't worry, We live about as far away from this volcano as this island permits. Although not even a mile from here are many homes and people just leading very normal lives.

My First Blooger Post

Aloha Fellow Bloggers, Family and Friends

My first real blog post and I still am not sure what I'm doing.....Just want to say thanks to Liz for setting it up for me (2 mo. ago) I know I need to do this because you all are dying to see how my boring life is going. Which is good at the moment, two girls at soccer, ready to go to Read aloud America at the school, Andrew is playing on his Game Boy, and Sydney is running around in her underware half potty trained, (which means she is half not potty trained which is soo much fun, like yesterday she pooped outside in the dirt, so I put her in the tub, she got out of the tub and went to play in her poop, so I just hosed her down out side and slapped a diaper on her.) (Its going well anyway) My Husband is in Utah, I miss him already just eleven more days to go.

The picture on the right is our little trip up to Mauna Kea last Sunday, Ben took it of the Sunset and of the Kohala Mountains. The one on the right is Sydney, the girls dressed her up with makeup and everything and did a photo shoot.

So about this blooger thing. I can't commit to anything. If you really want to know how I am, give me a phone call:) But I will try my best.

Love to all, Katherine
